I think cooperative learning is a very creative and effective teaching theory and strategy that can improve the learning atmosphere in the classroom, free students from the invisible pressure they see on the surface, promote cooperative learning among students, and help each other to improve their performance and efficiency. It is a significant reform in teaching and learning.
In our study group this semester, I think the cooperative learning aspect is very well-reflected. We all worked hard on the tasks assigned to us in the group assignments, and our group leader helped us to improve on many details, provided suggestions, and set an example for us to learn from him.
Here are some of the benefits I think cooperative learning can bring:
- Develop interaction skills
After entering social work, the importance of interaction ability comes out. And we all belong to the process of cooperative learning to increase interaction, and social skills, but also mutual understanding and mutual learning process.
2. motivate us to take the initiative to learn
And cooperative learning can make students from passive acceptance of the teacher’s education to active participation, the teacher let students work in small groups, and students have been in the initiative to participate in learning, we inevitably can get some conclusions in the discussion. Even if we don’t come up with a solution to the problem, the students are sure to be impressed after getting the teacher’s help.
3. develop a sense of competition
Nowadays, there is ubiquitous competition in all societies, and since school is the place where the future workforce is produced, developing students’ sense of competition is unavoidable. When we divide into study groups, there is competition between the groups. If the class is compared to a small microcosm of society, then a sense of competition among students can be developed in this small society.
4. and develop a sense of collective cooperation
In today’s society, the problems that people need to solve may become more and more complex, and it may be difficult to rely on one person’s strength to solve them, so it becomes important to learn cooperatively and solve them together. Everyone is integrated into the collective and everything is done in the collective interest, and with the passage of time, the ability to learn cooperatively will surely improve dramatically.
